At Brains in Motion, we are committed to helping children, adolescents, and adults improve their functioning by developing all areas of their mind/ body system. Everyday life and stress can throw our systems out of balance causing negative outcomes in our daily lives.

 

We focus on developing all areas of the person (physical, emotional, and nutritional). We are client centered and focus on each individual's unique needs so that they may reach their highest potential.

Kristi Warren is the owner and founder of Brains in Motion. She has been a pediatric occupational therapist for 18 years. She has a range of experience working in the Early Intervention program, schools, and outpatient clinics. Kristi has done extensive training in primitive reflexes with international leaders in the field. She is very passionate about what she does and loves working with families to improve their daily lives.

Kristi has lived in Springfield, Illinois for 10 years and is originally from Elkhart, Indiana. She and her husband and have 3 active boys that keep them busy. They all enjoy being outside by the pool and out on the lake. They also like to travel and see live music.

Kristi is looking forward to working with your family to meet your specific goals for you and your child!

Sara Thompson has been a practicing occupational therapy assistant (COTA/L) for almost 7 years. Before that, she practiced in the field of recreation therapy as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Sara strongly believes in the importance of continuing education, and her current occupational role has led her to expand her knowledge base into educational kinesiology level 1 and 2 primitive reflex integration certifications, Brain Gym, 101 and 102 Basic Kinesiology Principles certification, rhythmic movement training, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), QRI laser: primitive reflex integration, cranial nerve protocol, soft touch protocol, primitive reflex zone protocols, and brain balance protocol.

 

Sara is very passionate about Holistic Occupational Therapy and the impact it can make in improving daily function for her clients. She is grateful to her husband and two children for letting her practice all of her new skills on them along the way!

Peg Newby is a therapist at Brains in Motion.  She has been a COTA/L (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) for 25 years.  For the past 20 years, she has worked in the school setting with young children.  She also has experience in geriatrics and private clinic settings. 

Peg has lived in Carlinville, Illinois for 25 years with her husband.  They have 2 children and spend a lot of time with family and friends.  She loves working with children to improve their function and skills of everyday life. 

Peg is excited to start working with your family to help meet the needs of you and your children.
